The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) reviewed data from four clinical trials of quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY-D [Menactra]) in children aged 9 to 23 months. After two doses (at ages 9 and 12 months), antibody responses were >90% for meningococcal serotypes A, C, and Y but only >80% for type W-135. In another study, coadministration of MenACWY-D with pneumococcal vaccine (PCV7) decreased antibody response to three of the seven pneumococcal serotypes, compared with administration of PCV7 alone.
