Most empirical studies show comparable psychological adjustment among children of lesbian and heterosexual parents, but studies in adolescents have been lacking and have focused on problem behaviors rather than psychological adjustment. In the current study, investigators examined quality of life (QOL; a measure of psychological well-being) among adolescents in a convenience sample of 84 lesbian families enrolled in the U.S. Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study. Lesbian women who were either planning a pregnancy or already pregnant were recruited between 1986 and 1992.
