Infertile women undergoing ovulation induction often are concerned about the risk for breast cancer. To assess both ovulatory infertility and its treatment as potential risk factors for breast cancer, the authors analyzed prospectively collected data on rates of infertility, ovulation induction, and breast cancer in more than 116,000 participants followed from 1989 to 2001 in the Nurses’ Health Study II; 1357 incident cases of breast cancer were identified during the study period.
