Postpartum hemorrhage secondary to uterine atony is an important cause of maternal mortality. Usual treatment includes fluid management, manual compression, and angiographic embolization; in addition, several uterus-sparing surgical techniques have been developed to control bleeding. Investigators retrospectively evaluated the use of a new suturing technique in 11 primiparous and 9 multiparous women who had uterine atony unresponsive to medical management and to uterine bimanual compression.
