Depressed mood during the menopausal transition (MT) has been attributed to factors such as hormonal fluctuations, social role changes, and aging. In a prospective 15-year study beginning in 1990, investigators explored the relations between objectively measured depression and multiple menopause-related, hormonal, and psychosocial factors.
