Use of tamoxifen and, to a lesser extent, aromatase inhibitors (AIs) is associated with vasomotor symptoms; and arthralgias and other joint symptoms also are often reported by women who use AIs (JW Womens Health Aug 7 2008). Such symptoms are thought to result from estrogen-receptor blockade or hypoestrogenemia associated with use of these agents.
