As the number of adult survivors of childhood cancers rises, interest in their reproductive potential has grown. Investigators used data from the multicenter Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS) in a retrospective cohort analysis of risk for stillbirth and neonatal death among offspring of 2805 survivors of childhood cancers (1148 men and 1657 women).
In all, 4853 live births and 93 stillbirths and neonatal deaths occurred; among the 1774 survivors who received pelvic radiotherapy, 3077 live births and 60 stillbirths and neonatal deaths occurred.
