The use of botulinum exotoxin A to treat hyperfunctional facial lines has rapidly become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed by dermatologists. Botox has been used predominantly to rejuvenate the upper third of the face, with injections directed to the glabellar complex (including the procerus and corrugator muscles) for vertical glabellar lines; to the frontalis muscle, for horizontal brow creases; and to the orbicularis oculi, for crow's feet. More recently, Botox has been used to produce a nonsurgical brow lift, temporarily elevating the brow. In this study, Botox was injected into the depressors of the brow to determine if paralysis of these muscles produces brow elevation.
