Brugada syndrome is a distinct electrocardiographic pattern of repolarization abnormality noted in some patients without structural heart disease who are resuscitated from sudden cardiac death. Although these patients (typically young Southeast Asian males) are known to be at high risk for recurrent sudden cardiac death, it is unclear what therapeutic strategy should be used for their care. In this study, the authors who defined Brugada syndrome assessed the prognostic value of clinical and ECG characteristics in 547 patients with Brugada syndrome and no history of cardiac arrest.
