True to its reputation as the great imitator, sarcoidosis can mimic numerous skin conditions. However, the noncaseating granulomas on skin biopsy inevitably will betray the condition. Cutaneous manifestations of sarcoidosis appear in approximately 25% to 35% of patients and may be the first sign of what’s to come. Clinicians should therefore remember to evaluate for systemic involvement as well.
