Covid-19 continues to infect children and is responsible for a substantial number of hospitalizations and deaths each year. Infection also leads to urgent care and emergency department visits. This CDC investigation used a multistate electronic health record respiratory virus network to estimate vaccine effectiveness against acute outpatient encounters for children aged 9 months through 17 years seen over a 5-day period during the 2024–2025 season. Case patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection and controls tested negative.
