William T. Abraham is Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at The Ohio State University Heart Center in Columbus. He has conducted extensive clinical research in heart failure, including studies of neurohormonal mechanisms, systemic and cardiac adrenergic activity, and the role of the kidney. Dr. Abraham has been an investigator on more than 100 clinical drug and device trials in heart failure and cardiac transplantation, including MIRACLE, ENCOR, VMAC, and ESCAPE. He also serves as Associate Director for Clinical and Translational Research at the Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute. Dr. Abraham was a member of the NEJM Journal Watch Cardiology Editorial Board from 2000 to 2016.
