Robert S. Baltimore is Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics at Yale University School of Medicine and Associate Hospital Epidemiologist for Pediatrics, Yale–New Haven Hospital, New Haven. He is Director of the Pediatric Tuberculosis Clinic and Co-Director of the Training Program in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Yale–New Haven Children’s Hospital. Dr. Baltimore’s research has focused on group B streptococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, neonatal infections, and nosocomial infections. He is a member of the Committee on Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics (the “Red Book” Committee) and a liaison member of the American Heart Association’s Committee on Rheumatic Fever, Infective Endocarditis, and Kawasaki Disease. Dr. Baltimore wrote for NEJM Journal Watch Infectious Diseases from the publication's launch in 1998 until 2019.
