Edward H. Koo is Professor in the Department of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego, and Associate Director of the university’s Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. Trained in neurology and neuropathology, Dr. Koo has research interests in cellular and molecular biologic aspects of neurodegeneration. He focuses primarily on laboratory research but also is active in general neurology clinics and in assessing patients with Alzheimer disease who are research participants. Dr. Koo served on the NEJM Journal Watch Neurology Advisory Board from 1999 to 2010.
