Dr. Sofair has practiced general internal medicine in both rural and academic settings. His research focus is on the epidemiology of emerging infectious diseases, particularly viral hepatitis, and he has lectured both nationally and internationally on these topics. He also studies implementation of graduate medical education at the bedside. He is Firm Chief of the general medical unit at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
