Chris E. Forsmark, M.D., is Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the University of Florida, where he also serves as the Training Program Director for the UF Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. His clinical and research interests are in the areas of acute and chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic function testing, biliary and pancreatic malignancy, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. Forsmark has authored numerous book chapters, reviews, editorials, and original research on these topics. He is the current Chair of the American Board of Internal Medicine Gastroenterology Board and the Vice-Chair of the Pancreas Section of the American Gastroenterological Association. He formerly served as the president of the American Pancreatic Association and the Florida Gastroenterologic Society. Dr. Forsmark wrote for NEJM Journal Watch Gastroenterology from 2010 to 2015.
