Craig A. Williamson, M.D., is Clinical Associate Professor in Neurosurgery and Neurology at the University of Michigan. A native of rural Illinois, he received undergraduate training from the Honors Biology program at the University of Illinois. He completed medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by neurology training at the Harvard BWH–Mass General Neurology Residency, Boston, MA. After completing neurocritical care fellowship at the University of Michigan, he remained on faculty there and has served as neurocritical fellowship director since 2017. As a neurointensivist, he is passionate about improving patient care, education, and research for patients suffering from acute, severe illnesses of the nervous system and their sequelae. He serves on the guidelines committee of the Neurocritical Care Society, on the editorial board of the journal Neurocritical Care, and as an author for Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) guidelines.
