Associate Editor

Vlad G. Zaha, MD, PhD, FAHA, FACC, is a clinician scientist, an Associate Professor of Medicine/Cardiology, Biomedical Engineering and Cancer Biology, at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, and the Section Chief of Cardio-Oncology. He is the founding director of the Cardio-Oncology Program at Harold C. Simmons Cancer Center and of the Cardio-Oncology Fellowship Program. Dr. Zaha served on the American College of Cardiology Cardio-Oncology Section Leadership Council and on the American Heart Association Cardio-Oncology Science Subcommittee, where he was lead of the Cardio-Oncology community at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions in 2022–2023. He is currently the Section Chair for Cardio-Oncology within the Texas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Zaha's research is focused on the intersections between the cardiovascular system, metabolic and immune regulations, and cancer. He is a principal investigator leading translational studies that use multimodality cardiovascular imaging to elucidate the role of metabolic regulation in, and identify potential protective interventions against, early stages of cardiotoxic cardiomyopathy in patients treated for cancer; he is collaborating in mixed-methods community-based participatory research studies that investigate cardiovascular risks and individual engagement in cancer survivors. Dr. Zaha has been an associate editor of the journal Circulation since 2018.
