Dr. Kohlwes is the Division Chief of General Internal Medicine at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School and master of public health from the University of Washington. He completed primary care internal medicine residency training at UCSF based at the San Francisco General Hospital. He is the Codirector of the PRIME Residency Outcomes Research Pathway at UCSF and a member of the UCSF Academy of Master Clinicians.
