Richard D. Zane is Professor and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. His primary research interests are emergency medical services, emergency preparedness, and system access and integration. He has had extensive experience in designing systems for prehospital care and disaster response as well as designing and implementing systems of emergency care. Dr. Zane wrote for NEJM Journal Watch Emergency Medicine from 2002 to 2018 and served as Editor-in-Chief from 2015 to 2018.
