Psychiatrists have not well delineated how much aggressive features characterize the impulsivity occurring in some adult patients with ADHD. Aggression is not included in the DSM-IV criteria for ADHD, although the Wender Utah criteria for adult ADHD (Am J Psychiatry 1993; 150:885) include childhood symptoms (e.g., hot temper, short-lived outbursts, rapid calming down, and transient loss of control). These investigators examined aggression in 73 adult men with DSM-IV ADHD; each patient and two informants (at least one of whom had known the patient since childhood) answered questionnaires.
