The advent of a worldwide monkeypox (MPX) outbreak involving geographic areas not previously endemic for this infection has raised many questions about its transmission. In a large epidemiologic and statistical study of MPX transmission in the U.K., information about the target population in the U.S. has also been confirmed and new data characterized.
In the U.K study of 2746 confirmed cases (mean age, 37), the target population, as in the U.S., consisted of bisexual men (particularly men who have sex with men).
