This week, new data were reported on remdesivir for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Elsewhere, the CDC issued interim guidance on SARS-CoV-2 antibody testing, researchers explored the rate of positive RT-PCR tests after hospital discharge, and a study suggested that asymptomatic infection may be more common than previously reported. Additionally, stark racial differences were reported for COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths. Catch up on these and all of our COVID-19 stories from the past week at the links below.
What Our Editors Had to Say:
Andre Sofair, MD, MPH, and William E. Chavey, MD, MS: The finding of persistently positive, or even intermittently positive, SARS-CoV-2 PCR testing is not new. What remains to be clarified is whether or not this represents viable virus and how this would impact outpatient management and infection control.
