Neutrophilic dermatosis can be seen in patients with myeloid disorders, such as acute amyloid leukemia. Neutrophilic panniculitis is not only rare in such patients but also involves a differential diagnosis of conditions with a wide range of origin and treatment. These authors suggest a comprehensive diagnostic approach.
In this retrospective study of 14 cases of neutrophilic panniculitis in patients with myeloid disorders, the common clinical presentation was of erythematous, tender nodules on extremities, without fluctuance or warmth. The most common systemic symptom was fever. Most cases resolved spontaneously or after steroid therapy.
