Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for nonmetastatic prostate cancer, though somewhat common, remains controversial, given both the lack of level-1 evidence to support its routine use and the associated risks for adverse effects, including metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis, and impact on libido.
