Uterine compression sutures are effective for managing postpartum hemorrhage caused by uterine atony — but how does this intervention affect subsequent pregnancy outcomes? Investigators at one institution in Seoul, Korea, retrospectively compared such outcomes during a 6-year period (2006–2011) in 42 women who received uterine compression sutures during a prior delivery and 139 women who did not. At the time of the previous delivery, most participants (>92%) were nulliparous and most (>77%) required emergency cesarean deliveries.
