In recent years, there has been sensational media coverage of children and adolescents receiving cosmetic procedures. But even in adult patients, there is little guidance on the optimal ages to commence treatment that can prevent lines and wrinkles in later life. The authors of this editorial make a convincing argument that facial static creases may be prevented or delayed by early use of neurotoxins, and that neocollagenesis may be stimulated by early use of fillers and lasers. Although they do not stipulate any specific starting age, they note that these techniques can sometimes be more effective if used earlier.
