We are pleased to introduce this year's NEJM Journal Watch Neurology Top 10 Stories of 2013. It has been an exciting year once again with advances that both answer long-standing questions and challenge preexisting practice, as you can see below. We have determined this list after carefully reviewing all of the past year's summaries. In making our choices, we have tried to strike a balance between relevance to the clinician, recognition of landmark studies, and media publicity and public awareness. The stories are arranged in no particular order, and their sequence is not intended to reflect their relative importance.
