National Surveys of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles (NATSALs) in Britain were first completed in 1990–1991 and have been repeated at about 10-year intervals. Findings have been used to design interventions and track changes over time. Since the second survey, three interventions around sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have been implemented: chlamydia screening, human papillomavirus (HPV) immunization, and increased HIV testing in target groups.
