Although antiretroviral therapy (ART) has had a profound effect on many HIV-associated complications, AIDS-related non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) remains an ongoing problem despite the potency of combination ART. Using data from the Centers for AIDS Research Network of Integrated Clinical Systems (CNICS) cohort of HIV-infected adults in care at eight U.S. clinical sites, investigators examined NHL incidence and risk factors among 6036 treatment-naive patients who started combination ART between 1998 and 2009 and achieved suppression of HIV viremia to ≤500 copies/mL within the first year of starting treatment.
