Effective treatment for relapsed peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) remains an unmet clinical challenge, as patients treated with cytotoxic chemotherapy experience poor overall responses and short progression-free survival (PFS).
To assess the efficacy of the anti-CD30 drug-antibody conjugate brentuximab vedotin (BV) in patients with relapsed PTCL, investigators conducted an industry-sponsored, phase II multicenter trial of BV. Central hematopathology review was included to confirm histopathologic subtype and the level of CD30 expression by the lymphoma cells. Of the 35 enrolled patients, 13 had angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL), and 22 had PTCL not otherwise specified.
