This review1 is an excellent summary with clearly stated questions that a clinician should ask when evaluating a patient with clinical evidence suggesting vasculitis of the skin. The authors list three critical questions to address: (1) Is the morphology of the skin lesions compatible with the diagnosis of cutaneous vasculitis? (2) Are there findings suggestive of extracutaneous disease? (3) Is there an obvious cause or an associated disease that is responsible for the vasculitis?
