Dr. Paul Sax discusses the benefits of Triumeq (abacavir/3TC/dolutegravir), which received FDA approval on August 22 for treatment of HIV infection, in HIV and ID Observations. Advantages of this one-pill-daily regimen include better tolerability than tenofovir/FTC/efavirenz and the fact that to date, no treatment-naive patient with virologic failure has developed resistance to dolutegravir.
