Although the full study results are not yet available, they are reported to be better than those of iPrEx (the first study of pre-exposure prophylaxis [PrEP] in men who have sex with men), according to Dr. Paul Sax in HIV and ID Observations.

In his latest HIV and ID Observations blog post, Dr. Paul Sax notes that patients have long been inquiring about “on-demand” dosing. Intermittent PrEP use has several advantages over daily dosing, including lower cost and reduced drug exposure (and thus probably reduced toxicity).
