Common among patients with hematologic malignancies and hematopoietic cell transplantation, invasive aspergillosis (IA) is associated with high mortality. Patients aged ≥16 with hematologic malignancies or hematopoietic cell transplantation and documented or suspected IA were randomized to receive 6 weeks of voriconazole plus ≥2 weeks of either a placebo or the echinocandin anidulafungin.
