Congenital uterine anomalies (CUA) are relatively common, yet we know little about their effects on reproductive and obstetric outcomes. European investigators conducted a meta-analysis of 21 retrospective and 4 prospective comparative studies (3477 patients) in which outcomes were assessed in women with anomalous or normal uteri.
Probability of spontaneous pregnancy was lower than normal only in women with septate uteri (relative risk, 0.86; 95% confidence interval, 0.77–0.96), and probability of pregnancy with assisted reproductive technology was unaffected by any anomaly.
