Three recent sets of research criteria exist for mild cognitive impairment (MCI) with presumed Alzheimer disease (AD) neuropathology, but each uses a different definition of MCI and different AD biomarker parameters. Researchers conducted a partially industry-funded, retrospective analysis of five multicenter studies to directly compare diagnoses according to the following criteria: International Working Group (IWG)-1 prodromal AD, IWG-2 prodromal AD, and National Institute of Aging–Alzheimer Association (NIA-AA) mild cognitive impairment due to AD.
