The efficacy of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) among men who have sex with men (MSM) was demonstrated in the IPrEX trial, but implementation has been slow due to concerns about adherence outside of a clinical trial setting. The PROUD study was designed to assess PrEP's effectiveness.
