Interventions that have resulted in higher adenoma detection rates (ADRs) include training on enhanced inspection techniques combined with use of an 8-minute timer designed to force examination of each quarter of the colon for ≥2 minutes, and an educational program on recognizing precancerous polyps and performing meticulous examinations. Many tested methods for improving ADRs have been unsuccessful.
