Investigators from Denmark sought to compare an early versus conservative invasive strategy for patients admitted with an acute coronary syndrome. They employed an administrative database based on Danish national registries. An early invasive strategy was defined as diagnostic cardiac catheterization within 72 hours of admission. Acute coronary syndromes were defined as myocardial infarction (MI) or unstable angina. The study was partially manufacturer-supported.
