T-cell lymphoproliferative disorders are characterized by epidermotropism, the presence in the epidermis of cells not normally detected there. These authors expand our understanding of this histologic feature.
They reviewed two new and five previously published cases of epidermotropic B-cell lymphoma (age range, 51–80; M:F ratio, 9:1). The clinical presentation was of an itchy, disseminated papulosquamous rash enduring a mean 1.5 years before diagnosis. Bone marrow involvement was the most frequent extracutaneous symptom. The most frequent treatment was chemotherapy (CHOP). No death related to the lymphoma has been reported.
