For diminutive (≤5 mm) colorectal polyps characterized with high confidence on narrow-band imaging (NBI), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) recommends a “characterize, resect, and discard” strategy if there is ≥90% agreement between the surveillance intervals predicted by NBI and those predicted by histology, as well as a ≥90% negative predictive value (NPV) for adenomas in the rectosigmoid. Can endoscopists without prior NBI training meet these ASGE benchmarks?
