Initial therapy for symptomatic mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) typically includes immuno-chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell transplantation or, in nontransplant-eligible individuals, maintenance rituximab. Now, investigators have tested lenalidomide plus rituximab in an industry-sponsored, multicenter, phase II trial involving 38 newly diagnosed MCL patients with low- or intermediate-risk disease or with high-risk disease and contraindications to chemotherapy.
