Increased suicidal ideation has been found in teenage victims of bullying. Investigators expanded on this research by examining self-reported serious suicidal ideation and attempts at ages 13 and 15 in 1168 participants followed from birth.
Parents and teachers provided data on symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorder, and depression and on family socioeconomic status. Rigorous statistical methods were used to account for the high sample attrition of 55%.
