Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) associated with oral anticoagulant (OAC) use is a concern. Mortality with ICH while taking warfarin ranges from about 30% to 60%. The characteristics and outcomes for patients with ICH while taking novel oral anticoagulants (NOACs) is less clear. These authors conducted a multicenter registry study at 38 stroke units across Germany. They investigated mortality, neurological status at 3 months, and frequency of hematoma expansion.
