Helicobacter pylori infection is known to be more common in developing than in advanced industrial countries, but variations in prevalence among European nations have not been well documented.
In the current review, investigators analyzed data on H. pylori prevalence from 44 published studies (1990–2014) involving adult or general populations in 22 of 35 European countries included. Data on gastric cancer incidence from 1980 onward were obtained from the World Health Organization.
