Sofosbuvir–ledipasvir plus ribavirin has been shown effective for treating hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in patients with decompensated cirrhosis, before or after liver transplantation (NEJM JW Gastroenterol Oct 2015 and Gastroenterology 2015; 149:649). Researchers have now conducted an industry-funded, prospective, phase 3, open-label study of 12 weeks of once-daily daclatasvir (60 mg) plus sofosbuvir (400 mg) and ribavirin (600 mg, with possible titration to 1000 mg) in two cohorts of HCV treatment-naive or -experienced patients with any HCV genotype (76% type 1):
