Dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-4 inhibitors (including “gliptins” such as sitagliptin) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists (such as exenatide and liraglutide) are incretin-based drugs that help control type 2 diabetes.
