Kaiser Permanente operates the largest organized colorectal cancer (CRC) screening program in the U.S., in which eligible patients aged 50 to 75 years are mailed an annual fecal immunochemical test (FIT) with instructions for test completion and return. Among 670,841 invited persons, 48.2% returned the FIT in year 1.
Among those who remained eligible for screening after round-one testing, participation in years 2, 3, and 4 was 75.3%, 83.4%, and 86.1%, respectively.
