The devastating outbreaks of Ebola in western Africa in 2015 seem to have abated, but there is every reason to believe that new outbreaks will occur there or elsewhere. The virus is known to persist in body fluids after recovery, raising questions about late deaths and spread from survivors. To address these questions, investigators conducted a retrospective cohort study involving 151 Ebola survivors treated at a single center in Sierra Leone.
